Mavic 2 Enterprise Review Of New Features

Mavic 2 Enterprise Overview

There are 2 choices when it comes to the Mavic 2 Enterprise.  The Mavic 2 Enterprise comes with the 4k zoom camera (2 x optical / 3 x digital zoom).

The Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual comes or with the integrated 4k camera and  radiometric thermal Sensor from FLIR.

Both the Mavic 2 Enterprise and Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual come with the Spotlight, Speaker and Beacon accessories below.

Mavic 2 Enterprise DUAL Thermal Camera

DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual With Thermal CameraThe Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual features a 3 axis gimbal stabilized camera housing a side by side 4k sensor for capturing visible light and the FLIR radiometric Lepton thermal micro-camera for capturing thermal data.

Together these sensors allow pilots to perform flights at night, as well as being able to fly in complex daytime conditions such as fog and smoke.

Users can select from multiple intelligent display modes in the DJI Pilot flight control app to visualize data from the dual-sensor camera. More information on the specification of the Mavic 2 thermal camera below.

About Radiometric Thermal Cameras

A radiometric thermal camera measures the temperature of a surface by interpreting the intensity of an infrared signal reaching the camera.

Adding radiometric functionality to a camera can give drone operators the ability to save pictures for post-flight image analysis and accurately measure the temperatures of individual image pixels. The addition of radiometric imaging enables drones to capture temperature data in every pixel of an image.

Drone operators can thus analyze and send detailed reports and images, which examine temperature data in the entire image, delivering quantifiable results.

Mavic 2 Enterprise Accessories

Bot Mavic 2 Enterprise drones feature an extended port on top of the quadcopter to mount the M2E duo spotlight, loudspeaker and beacon.

Mavic 2 Enterprise Spotlight

This new DJI M2E has a strong dual spotlight with a brightness of 2,400 lumens to assist operators in carrying out missions in dark or low light areas. The spotlight is ideal for search and rescue as well as inspection applications.

This M2E dual spotlight assists greatly in the search for missing persons in low light or night time searches.  It will also allow for proper visual inspections, where structures have low light or in bad lighting conditions.

Mavic 2 Enterprise Speaker

The M2E has a loudspeaker with a maximum projection of 100 decibels 3.2 feet (1 meter) distance and lets pilots play up to 10 custom voice recordings on demand, providing a communications channel to nearby individuals, which can be critical during lifesaving emergency operations.

Mavic 2 Enterprise Beacon

Designed with U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) night waiver standards in mind, the M2E Beacon features a bright flashing strobe, which is visible 3 miles (4 km) away.

This helps pilots carry out missions in low light conditions or in the night much more safely. It provides additional airspace awareness for operators of other drones nearby and traditional aircraft.

Mavic 2 Enterprise Local Data Mode

With 24 GB of on-board data storage with password protection, a new GPS time stamping feature and Local Data Mode feature, the M2E includes enhanced data security and protection for sensitive data such as photos, videos and flight logs.

Mavic 2 Enterprise New AirSense Technology

Every M2E includes DJI’s AirSense technology for improved pilot situational awareness. DJI AirSense enhances airspace safety by giving you instant realtime positioning alerts on nearby manned aircraft.

AirSense uses an integrated receiver to automatically alert drone pilots of ADS-B signals from nearby airplanes and helicopters, providing realtime positioning alerts through the DJI Pilot mobile app.

This provides an extra level of safety for professional drone operators, who fly in congested airspace or near complicated operations, such as wildfire suppression, disaster recovery and infrastructure monitoring.

DJI AirSense technology is a key system to help ensure drones remain a safe addition to the skies.
